Pelion, S.C.-based leafy green grower, processor and shipper WP Rawl donated produce to food-insecure individuals in the state.

WP Rawl donated 700 vegetable gift boxes to the Harvest Hope Food Bank, according to a news release, up from 500 the previous two years.

The boxes are typically given in preparation for Christmas meals, but this year the company decided to help those in need sooner and provide them with healthier food for Thanksgiving.

The boxes include bagged leafy greens, beets, zucchini, cabbage, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, green onions and leeks, the release said.
