Your Way*Fresh now has the capacity to bring fresh-cut fruit and vegetable products to every part of the U.S. and Canada.
The company has packers in seven states and one Canadian province.
“We have seen a substantial increase in customer demand in the past six months, which has accelerated our geographical coverage plans,” President Jim Padden said in a news release. “We’ve met our goal for all plants to be U.S. Department of Agriculture Organic certified and SQF level 2 food safety food certified.”
That, he said, allows the company meet the quality and food safety demands of national and regional accounts looking for those certifications.
The packers for Your Way*Fresh are:
- Pacific Coast Fruit, Portland Ore.’
- Get Fresh Sales, Las Vegas;
- Hardies Fresh Foods Houston;
- Loffredo Produce Des Moines;
- Vinyard Produce, Oklahoma City;
- Royal/FreshSense, Atlanta;
- Hearn Kirkwood, Baltimore; and
- Bamford Produce, Toronto Canada.
The company, incorporated in Delaware, has been in place for about two years, Padden said. All of the facilities are Pro*Act members, but Your Way*Fresh is its own entity, Padden said. Pro*Act provides back office support with human resources and insurance options, but is not involved in marketing efforts.
Padden leads the marketing for Your Way*Fresh, supported by sales and marketing efforts of the eight packing facilities.
Padden said the eight facilities in the Your Way*Fresh network sell under their banners and the Your Way*Fresh banner.
Your Way*Fresh allows retail and foodservice customers with business in more than one region in the U.S. to have a supplier with identical pricing, packaging and specifications.
“We can bid that as one company and have a single point of contact,” he said. “We can do some things that the big guys don’t want to do or can’t do.”
Though many of the organizations in Your Way*Fresh are oriented toward foodservice operators, Padden said the company has seen growth in grab-and-go retail fruit and vegetable packs. Cut fruit items for school demand is also an area of growth, he said.
The company offers fresh-cut fruits and vegetables, meal kits, salad kits, snack-size packs, and custom product offerings. Your Way*Fresh serves national and regional customers in the foodservice, grocery, retail deli, convenience stores, industrial accounts, schools, and other food sectors.
“Our goal is to offer high-quality processing and packaging of custom fresh assembled products for national and regional accounts, with consistency of product, pricing, and packaging throughout our network,” Padden said in the release.
In 2017, Your Way*Fresh exceeded 100 million pounds of production, according to the release. It operates on more than 825,000 square feet of processing space, and offers distribution capabilities with a fleet of more than 450 trucks.
