CarbAmericas has hired Zach DeHart as berry category manager.

He has 21 years of experience in the industry, mostly at two retailers. At Food Lion, DeHart was at the store-level and then a buyer, and then was a merchandiser at Supervalu, according to a news release.

Most recently, he was vice president of sales and marketing at Fresh Results, but recently returned to CarbAmericas, where he handled sales in different categories earlier in his career, according to the release.

“CarbAmericas has a great grower base with a strong Peruvian connection,” DeHart said in the release. “I am very excited to leverage the networks in Latin America as we grow the business and expand the category.”

“CarbAmericas has grown quite a bit over the years and we now have new commodities and areas of expertise that we did not have when Zach was part of our team last time,” Danny Pollak, vice president of sales at CarbAmericas, said in the release. “This is a natural progression for us and we are ready to count on Zach to help us further develop our berry business.”
