PALENQUE FOODS: Key account manager Ben Brittain (from left), chief operating officer Raul Arcos Dominguez, and marketing director Alejandro Arcos talk with booth visitors about the Mexican mango company’s plans to rebrand and change packaging. Palenque Foods expects to have those changes in place for the next Mexican mango season, which will begin in January. It plans to debut the new look at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit conference and expo in October.

PANDOL BROS.: John Pandol, director of special projects at Delano, Calif.-based Pandol Bros., visits with booth goers about organic grapes from Mexico, which the company will be sourcing from all three regions — Guaymas, Hermosillo and Caborca. Pandol Bros. is offering organic grapes for the whole Mexico season for the first time. Pandol said a number of retailers want to buy organic from their normal grape shippers to ensure the product is held at the correct temperature throughout the cold chain.

MAGIC SUN: Ton Otto, sales manager for Richmond, Va.-based Globalmex International, which markets under the Magic Sun label, discusses with booth visitors the company’s tomato line. New additions include organic and conventional grape tomatoes and medley tomatoes. The company also offers organic and conventional beefsteak tomatoes, organic and conventional tomatoes on the vine, and cocktail tomatoes.

TRIPLE H: Sales account executive Sara Rueda and vice president of sales Heriberto Vlaminck talk about the Mexican vegetable program from Pharr, Texas-based Triple H Produce. The company also featured its grower app, which won the Best in Show award at Viva Fresh. The app is a traceability solution for growers, allowing them to keep tabs on their product throughout the supply chain.

DAYKA & HACKETT: Saleswoman Tami Dean and business development manager Brett Burdsal display the packaging that Reedley, Calif.-based Dayka & Hackett has created for its avocados, a new commodity for the company. Dayka & Hackett plans to start shipping in the packaging in about two months, Burdsal said. The Avocado No. 5 label — with the tagline Indulge Yourself — is designed to appeal to female shoppers as a fun take on the perfume Chanel No. 5.

DIXONDALE FARMS: Production foreman Brian King and marketing and fulfillment specialist Emily Lord talk with booth visitors about cantaloupes from Carrizo Springs, Texas-based Dixondale Farms. The company is increasing its volume by about 20% per year, King said. Dixondale plans to be in volume in cantaloupes on June 1, with the season going about 45 days. Most of the product stays in Texas.

AMERICA BERRY FARMS: Salesmen Adrian Mendez (left) and Freddy Jimenez speak with booth visitors about the year-round strawberry program from Fillmore, Calif.-based America Berry Farms. The company sources from Oxnard, Salinas, Santa Maria, and Watsonville, Calif., and Baja California and central Mexico. The company manages between 300 and 400 acres and does both foodservice and retail business. America Berry Farms distributes mostly to California, Texas and elsewhere in the Midwest.
