Conference offered on transportation safety regulations
Registration is available for a live audio conference on food safety transportation regulations.
The event, set for 12 p.m. Eastern Jan. 18, will be presented by John Ryan, author of "Guide to Food Safety and Quality During Transportation: Controls, Standards and Practices," according to a news release. The session has registration fees beginning at $227, according to the registration website.
Ryan is a certified Preventive Controls Qualified Individual, specializing in food safety process control and food safety plan validation, according to the release.
The session will include:
A recap of the Food Safety Modernization Act transportation rules;
How to reduce food safety risks by controlling hazards;
Identifying potential problem areas;
Sanitation and temperature controls;
Packaging, spills, accidents, fraud, cargo theft and allergens;
It’s no surprise that the education session on the tomato suspension agreement at this year's Viva Fresh Expo was a packed house, given the extensive discussion recently over its future.
The company says its process uses vaporized hydrogen peroxide, ozone and ultraviolet light to eliminate up to 99.99% of pathogens, addressing global food safety challenges across industries.
