Liberty Fruit introduces products at Midwest expo

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Liberty Fruit Co. is expanding its Carol's Cuts line with numerous items shown for the first time Aug. 16 at The Packer's Midwest Produce Expo.

Reade Sievert, executive vice president for Liberty Fruit Co., Kansas City, Kan., said the new offerings are meant to meet the needs of busy families.

"Our push now is for the meal replacement side, along with more retail-friendly packs and grab-and-go-type items - anything to save the consumer time," Sievert said.

Liberty is offering what it calls "Meal Enhancement Kits," such as the Perfect Burger Kit, Pepper Rings and an Asparagus Kit.

The burger kit, for instance, includes leaf lettuce, tomatoes and onions all in one pack to spruce up any family's burger night.

"We're really excited about these," Sievert said.

The company also boasts new carrot stick, celery stick and split packs with dip, in 8-ounce sizes; grab-and-go, 6-ounce fruit packs of cantaloupe, pineapple, watermelon, honeydew and fruit medley; and a peeled clementine pack, among others.
