Homegrown Organic Farms focuses on citrus

Organic citrus is the main focus for Porterville, Calif.-based Homegrown Organic Farms during the winter, said CEO Scott Mabs.

“It’s a citrus game for us at this time of year,” he said. “We’re 100% focused on citrus.”

The program includes navel oranges, clementines, mandarins, lemons and grapefruit.

Mabs said the company continues to grow.

“We keep seeing additional organic sales,” he said, though not at the same rate as four or five years ago.
