Time to submit entries for the United Fresh Innovation Awards

The United Fresh Produce Association is seeking applications for the 2020 Innovation Awards.

Companies have until April 15 to apply for the awards in seven categories. Finalists will be on display and winners will be announced at the United Fresh 2020 Convention & Expo June 16-19 in San Diego.

“The pace of innovation in the fresh produce industry continues to excel at an unprecedented rate, and nowhere is that more evident than in the United Fresh Innovation Awards,” Tom Stenzel, president and CEO of United Fresh, said in a news release. “Each year, we’re honored to recognize new and improved products and technologies that stimulate the growth and profitability of our industry.”

The categories are Best New:

  • Field technology
  • Food safety solution
  • Fruit product 
  • Indoor growing technology
  • Packaging
  • Packing/processing equipment 
  • Vegetable product 

Expo floor attendees can see the finalists and vote for their favorites. Winners will be announced from the main stage on the trade show floor on June 18, according to the release. Entrants must be an exhibitor to be eligible.
