Taysom Hill: The NFL’s most potato-like player
Taysom Hill, who played in a variety of positions for the New Orleans Saints in 2019, is no stranger to the Idaho Potato Commission.
The native Idahoan attended Brigham Young University and played in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl in 2018, according to a news release from the commission. He recently was touting Idaho potatoes in a four-month social media campaign that ended in January.
Hill had many roles at with the Saints: quarterback, tight end, slot and wide receiver and running back, according to the release.
“When we saw his versatility during a game and learned more about what a great all-around athlete and man he is on and off the field, we knew we wanted to work with him,” Frank Muir, president and CEO of the Idaho Potato Commission, said in the release.
His versatility on the field can be compared to potatoes, as the most versatile vegetable in the produce aisle.
During the season, Taysom and the commission posted several photos on their Instagram, Twitter and Facebook pages. The commission hosted two contests for autographed footballs and jerseys, according to the release.
