C.H. Robinson’s Executive Chairman John Wiehoff plans to retire from the board of directors when his term expires in May.

Wiehoff’s term expires May 7 during the Eden Prairie, Minn.-based C.H. Robinson’s annual stockholders meeting, according to a news release.

The board will announce plans for a successor later.

“We thank John for his outstanding leadership and contributions to C.H. Robinson,” Bob Biesterfeld, CEO, said in the release. “Under John’s leadership we evolved from a domestic truck brokerage and produce company to a global supply chain company, and we have created tremendous value for our customers, our carriers and our shareholders while providing opportunities for our employees around the globe to learn, grow and serve.”

Wiehoff, 58, has been a director at the company since 2001, and was CEO from 2002-19, becoming chairman in 2007. He also served as senior vice president, chief financial officer, treasurer and corporate controller.

“I am extremely proud of what C.H. Robinson has accomplished, and I’m excited to see the next chapter of growth,” Wiehoff said in the release. “I am confident that C.H. Robinson is well positioned to enjoy continued success in the years ahead.”
