Mexican asparagus and Brussels sprouts reach good volume

 

The Mexican asparagus and Brussels sprouts deals have reached promotable volumes for Pompano Beach, Fla.-based Southern Specialties.

The company is a grower, importer, processor and shipper of specialty products grown in Central America, South America, Mexico, Canada and the U.S. 

“Our asparagus from Caborca, Mexico, (is) looking very good. We are pleased with the quality and volumes that are crossing into the U.S.,” Carlos Solf, director of procurement, said in a news release. “We continue to experience excellent year-over-year growth in this region.”

Account managers are ready to set up promotions for 11-pound and 28-pound cases direct from the San Luis, Ariz., and Pompano Beach, Fla., distribution facilities.

The Mexican asparagus deal should run until mid-April, according to the release.

The company also ships Brussels sprouts grown in the same region. The Brussels sprout deal will run until early June.
