TAMPA, Fla. — Loxahatchee, Fla.-based J&J Family of Farms has partnered with Tifton, Ga.-based Lewis Taylor Farms to increase volume on the items it currently offers and add new products to its lineup.
Lewis Taylor Farms has 6,500 acres of produce and 81 greenhouses for 275 million vegetable transplants, according to a news release.
Kohl Brown, vice president of sales for J&J, said on the expo floor at the Southeast Produce Council’s Southern Exposure that the partnership gives J&J an expanded footprint with its customers.
With the new partnership, J&J will significantly increase its pepper, cucumber, squash and eggplant volumes and add greens, broccoli, mini watermelon, cantaloupe and honeydew to its product mix, per the release.
Brown praised Bill Brim, an owner of Lewis Taylor Farms and a 2019 inductee into the Georgia Agricultural Hall of Fame, as a “legend in the produce business.”
“We’re just really looking forward to it,” Brown said. “We’ve got a great team, and it’s going to really give us a shot in the arm.”
