Bobalu Berries, Oxnard, Calif., has hired Jewell Marketing to build the company’s brand.

Cindy Jewell, who was executive vice president of the California Strawberry Commission and most recently vice president of marketing for California Giant Berry Farms, recently opened her marketing agency.

“I have already spent time with the company and have a long list of ideas and plans to help grow their brand and tell their story to both customers and the consumer,” said Jewell, who worked with Bobalu’s vice president of sales, Anthony Gallino, former vice president of sales at California Giant.

Bobalu harvests strawberries from Oxnard and central Mexico year-round. Bobby Jones, who is a partner in the company with his brother RC Jones, said Jewell and Gallino will help the company become a year-round shipper of all major berries.

“We are really excited about the multiple locations we are farming in the Santa Maria district and will be telling a bigger story about that region as production gets underway,” RC Jones said in the release.
