Nick Mascari leaves Applewood Growers, starts consulting firm
Nick Mascari has left Applewood Fresh Growers LLC, Sparta, Mich., where he was president, to open a consulting company.
Mascari was also a minority owner of Applewood Fresh, according to a news release. He officially left March 3.
He is starting his own company, Mascari Strategy Group, a management consulting firm. In an e-mail, Mascari said the Grand Rapids, Mich., business is “up and running” and offers management and sales coaching, and business planning. He is certified for Wiley DISC (dominance, influence, steadiness and conscientiousness) assessment and The Five Dysfunctions of a Team training application.
"It's been my honor to lead Applewood Fresh through this exciting period of growth and change,” he said in the release. “I'm very proud of everything I accomplished as the leader of the company and look forward to my new endeavor.”
Mascari became president of Applewood Fresh Growers when it was established in 2018, and has been active in the produce industry since 2006, when he joined Dole Food Co. as a technical service representative, training employees across the country on produce ripening techniques.
He had a similar role at Chiquita Brands International, before joining Indianapolis Fruit Co. for eight years, as sales representative, assistant procurement manager and then assistant manager of sales.
Mascari was vice president of sales at apple company All Fresh GPS before joining Applewood Fresh.
