The Oppenheimer Group will be expanding the Ocean Spray brand to grapes, starting with Mexican grapes in May.

Oppy also offers berries and citrus under the well-known cranberry brand.

The Ocean Spray grape program will transition to California grapes in the summer and move to imports again in the fall, according to a news release.

“The Ocean Spray brand is a household name that has earned consumers’ trust by consistently delivering exceptionally high-quality products for decades, which makes our partnership a natural match,” James Milne, senior vice president of categories and marketing for Oppy, said in the release.

According to an independent consumers survey, 70% of respondents couldn’t name a brand of grapes, but indicated Ocean Spray branded grapes would outperform existing brands, including purchase intent, according to the release.
