Sakata Seed America hosts retail, foodservice customers

Sakata Seed America is inviting retailers and foodservice operators to its annual field trials.

Morgan Hill, Calif.-based Sakata Seed America's first-ever Retail Day is set for Aug. 12 at its Woodland, Calif., research station, according to a news release.

The event coincides with the company's California Seed Trials for distributors, growers and other customers. In addition to the Woodland event, another trial will be at Sakata Seed America's Salinas research station.

Sakata Seed America plans to highlight its Infinite Gold cantaloupe, specialty tomatoes, broccoli, spinach and other crops at the event.

"Our sales team is excited to give buyers the true grower experience at Retail Day," John Nelson, the company's director of sales and marketing, said in the release. "We have trials growing for a large amount of our products and can't wait to demonstrate the difference in quality, taste and appearance directly in the field."
