National Restaurant Association cancels May show

The National Restaurant Association has canceled its May 16-19 show in Chicago because of the COVID-19 outbreak.

With guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and the Governor of Illinois, the NRA said it was placing the safety of attendees and participants first.

“We recognize the critical importance of the Show to the industry and we know that this will come as a disappointment to those who had planned for months to attend,” the NRA said on their website. “While it is not the outcome we wanted, amid all the uncertainty around the COVID-19 pandemic, the safety of our attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, vendor partners and our own staff is paramount.”

In China, the food show SIAL China 2020 originally planned for May, has been postponed to Sept. 28-30 in Shanghai, China.
