Costa Fruit & Produce donates fruit snacks to healthcare workers
Boston-based Costa Fruit & Produce is distributing fruit snack packs to area healthcare workers.
“Healthcare workers are putting themselves at risk every day fighting the COVID-19 virus,” the company said in a Facebook post. “In appreciation of their heroic selfless effort, Costa Fruit & Produce will be donating thousands of healthy Nutra-snack trays to area healthcare workers.”
The Nutra-snack kits are produced at Costa’s onsite, SQF certified processing facility, Fresh Ideas, and then sent to area hospitals for distribution to healthcare workers, according to the post. The Nutra-snack packs, according to the company, include fresh fruit, juice and yogurt.
The distribution of the fruit snack packs to healthcare workers began in late March, said Mike Scuderi, director of marketing for Costa Fruit & Produce.
