FDA again extends lab accreditation comment period
The Food and Drug Administration is extending the comment period for establishing a laboratory accreditation program for testing food.
It’s the second extension for the Laboratory Accreditation for Analyses of Foods proposed rule, this time because of the pandemic, according to the FDA. Comments will now be accepted until July 6, 90 days past the previous April 6 deadline, according to a news release.
The agency expects to send the final rule to the Federal Register in February 2022, according to the release.
