Progressive Produce offers promotable asparagus volume

Harvest of asparagus in Washington state will begin in mid-April and will continue through June.

Progressive Produce, Los Angeles, will have Washington asparagus and will begin shipments from Peru at the end of April, Cory Stahl, vice president of sales, said in a news release.

Organic asparagus supplies will be available from Mexico, and Washington state organic asparagus will ship into June.

The company also sources purple asparagus from Mexico and Washington, and white asparagus from Peru, Stahl said in the release.
Asparagus is packed in 11-pound boxes, but Stahl said the company also has the capability to pack in 28-pound boxes. The company offers multiple sizes and styles for bagged asparagus, he said in the release.

“As retailers discover what the new ‘norm’ will be and look for categories to promote, customers’ confidence can remain high when purchasing fresh green, organic, white, and purple asparagus from Progressive Produce,” he said.
