An April 17 web seminar hosted by The Packer and conducted by Category Partners will look at what is coming next for fresh produce at retail during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Registration for the hour-long web event, set for noon Pacific, is available online.

According to event organizers, the web seminar will examine how consumers have responded so far to the crisis, and consider what retail and consumer data indicates may be coming in the weeks ahead.

Steve Lutz, senior vice president of insights and innovation for Category Partners, and Adam Brohimer, president, will share insights on produce department sales through March and into the first week of April. In addition, Category Partners will release the results of a national survey of 2,000 consumers about their shopping behavior.

Before joining Category Partners, Lutz was chief strategist and vice president of marketing for Wenatchee-based CMI Orchards. Brohimer previously worked in a variety of category management, business development and client support roles including with IRI and Perishables Group.
Category Partners is based in Idaho Falls, Idaho, with offices in Laguna Hills, Calif., Chicago, and Wenatchee, Wash.
