Dandrea Produce’s Ron Dandrea dies
Produce industry veteran Ron Dandrea, 57, died April 11.
Dandrea was co-owner of Dandrea Produce LLC, Vineland, N.J., and had been battling pancreatic cancer for two years, the Dandrea Produce family said in a statement.
Ron Dandrea joined the company in 1978, according to the family, and worked with his brothers and father for more than 35 years. Dandrea Produce was established in 1917 and is a fourth-generation, family-owned company.
“Ron’s passion for produce was unparalleled,” according to the family statement. “He was a stellar salesman who helped catapult the company to new heights during his early years.”
A strong work ethic, commitment to excellence and a sense of humor were hallmarks of his personality.
“The industry has suffered a great loss, as anyone who knew Ronnie will forever miss his infectious smile,” according to the family.
Dandrea is survived by his wife, Sandra, daughters Deanna and Ali, and son Adam.
Because of restrictions to protect against COVID-19, an April 16 service will be limited to immediate family members.
