Air cargo company adds Los Angeles stop

The LATAM Cargo Group, which transports goods by airplanes, is seeing an increase in demand with the loss of cargo capacity on passenger flights.

The company has added Los Angeles and Mexico City on the Santiago, Chile, and Lima, Peru, route, with twice weekly flights, according to a news release. The cargo will include perishables to the U.S., with electronics from the U.S. on the return flights south.

Andrés Bianchi, CEO of the LATAM Cargo Group, said the COVID-19 pandemic is stressing supply chains across the globe, and added cities gives clients a new option.

“As strategic partners, we moved swiftly to offer them a new alternative and we intend to continue doing so in the markets that require it,” Bianchi said in the release

The added LATAM Cargo stop at Los Angeles will include Peruvian mangoes, according to the company.
