PBH expands influencer network to 24

The Produce for Better Health Foundation has introduced its fruit and vegetable ambassadors for 2020-2021.

The members of this newest class — revealed virtually because the annual Consumer Connection Conference was canceled due to the pandemic — were chosen based on consumer credibility, social media savvy, content quality and enthusiasm for promoting produce, according to a news release.

“We’re thrilled to grow our Fruit and Vegetable Ambassadors in Action (FVAA) Network to include 24 passionate influencers who have the keen ability to tap directly into consumers’ emotional connection to food, helping them ignite a new relationship with fruits and vegetables,” PBH president and CEO Wendy Reinhardt Kapsak said in the release.

As a whole, the group reaches more than 1.5 million consumers, including many millennial and Gen Z consumers. Influencers who are part of the PBH network, along with promoting produce through their own platforms, will contribute content to PBH and support its partnerships as well, per the release. Members of the group can also engage with PBH and its members by co-hosting educational symposia and events, generating media placements and supporting retail promotions.

“Consumers crave an authentic, no-nonsense approach when they look to brands for leadership and advice,” Katie Toulouse, marketing and communications director for PBH, said in the release. “This is precisely what the ambassadors offer to PBH and its members — a non-prescriptive, engaging and inspiring way to communicate the powerful role fruits and vegetables play in fueling healthy, happy lifestyles.”
