Van Doren Sales acquires data company Agjet
Van Doren Sales Inc., East Wenatchee, Wash., which manufactures packinghouse equipment, has acquired Agjet LLC., a data integration company focused on case handling, coding and traceability.
The acquisition gives customers “the next level of automation and integration across the packhouse,” according to a news release.
Agjet brings stamper and traceability software and small robotics capabilities.
Agjet has a vision of making packing lines more intelligent, according to Agjet CEO Ben Wellner.
“Joining the VDS team is a huge boost in our mission to provide effective solutions, ultimately helping our customers deliver the best product to market,” Wellner said in the release.
Van Doren Sales will be able to add data capabilities to packing lines for apples, cherries, pears, potatoes, onions and more.
“As part of the push for automation we have seen the need for advancing data and AI in the packhouse,” Bret Pittsinger, president and owner of Van Doren Sales, said in the release. “This acquisition will assist us in accelerating that capability.”
The company has sales and service locations in Wenatchee, Yakima, Wash., Grand Rapids, Mich., and Kelowna, British, Columbia.
