John Vena Inc. redesigns website after 100-year anniversary

Following the debut of a new logo and mission statement in 2019 — marking 100 years in business — wholesaler and distributor John Vena Inc., Philadelphia, has a redesigned website with a host of new features.

The website, www.JohnVenaProduce.com, features a comprehensive product database with details on the specialty fruits, vegetables and herbs the company handles.

“This will be a great resource for our customers, who have long requested a digital reference tool from us,” president John Vena, who represents the third generation of the family at the company, said in a news release. “We know our customers work day and night, just like we do — so it was important to us that this kind of information be available to them anytime, anywhere.”

The website could be a tool for food professionals with information ranging from technical warehouse handling tips to extend shelf life and improve delivered quality, to culinary applications that will inspire sales teams and consumers, according to the release.

“More products are being added to the database every day,” director of marketing Emily Kohlhas said in the release. “And we’re already looking forward to the next level of functionality — like working with bloggers to include links to authentic recipes or offering free commodity guides that can be downloaded and forwarded directly to an entire sales team in just a few clicks.”

A blog and resource page with free downloads offer insights from the company’s buying and marketing teams targeted toward food professionals, but meant to be engaging for consumers as well.

The site highlights the range of clients the company serves, including foodservice distributors, retailers and meal kit companies, as well as the company’s custom services from ripening to repacking.
