Oppy releases Orchard View cherry brand

The Oppenheimer Group is bringing the Orchard View cherry brand back when the Pacific Northwest season starts in June.

An “exceptional growing season” in the Pacific Northwest will bring high-quality berries to markets this year, according to an Oppy news release.

California’s cherry harvesting season will wrap up in the beginning of June and Pacific Northwest cherries are expected to be after June 20.

“We’ve seen many excellent Orchard View cherry crops over the years, but this one is shaping up to be truly superb,” James Milne, Oppy’s senior vice president of categories and marketing, said in the release.

Milne said that the combination of taste and texture helps the fruit retain a widespread national appeal and high interest from export markets.

“We’re incredibly happy with how the growing season turned out this year. The quality is truly spectacular and is in line with what people expect from the Orchard View brand,” Brenda Thomas, Orchard View president, said in the release.

The crop, which is grown and separated for quality, consistency and uniformity, is available in bags, clamshells and top-seal packs.
