Congdon Orchards Inc., Yakima, Wash., is now a supplier of Washington apples, pears and cherries to Sage Fruit Co., starting Aug. 1.

Congdon adds “considerable” volume of the fruit to Sage Fruit’s supply, according to a news release.

“This partnership, with such an outstanding growing and packing operation, to Sage Fruit is an important step in our overall growth strategy,” Steve Clement, Sage Fruit CEO, said in the release. “It enhances our ability to supply our customers with the best tasting, highest quality tree fruit Washington State has to offer, year-round.”

Sage Fruit, Yakima, markets fruit from three other Central Washington growers:

  • Legacy Fruit Packers LLC;
  • Valicoff Fruit; and
  • Olympic Fruit.

“We are excited to join Sage Fruit as an equal partner and build upon our relationship in order to market and sell high-quality, great tasting fruit to customers worldwide,” Dick Woodin, president and CEO of Congdon Orchards, said in the release. “We look forward to working closely with the Sage Fruit team.”
