Crawford Packaging, London, Ontario, is building a new warehouse and showroom in Essex, Ontario.

It’s the fifth location for the 57-year-old company; it also has warehouses in Georgia, Texas and Mexico.

The 25,000-square-foot facility will also house a service shop and offices for the company, according to a news release. The location is in the “heart of the produce and industrial sectors in Ontario,” according to a news release, and will allow the company to meet the needs of customers in the Southwest Ontario area that includes Leamington, Kingville and Windsor.

“Providing opportunities for our clients to trial new packaging innovations at a local location will help reduce lead times,” Stuart Jackson, vice president of produce packaging at Crawford, said in the release. “In addition, supplying from a local warehouse will reduce our carbon footprint while still providing unparalleled service.”

John Ashby, Crawford Packaging’s president, said the Essex location provides greater access to produce and industrial markets.

“We look forward to the opportunities this new location will bring us,” Ashby said in the release.
