Wm. G. Roe & Sons names Darrell Jensen CEO
Darrell Jensen is the new CEO at the Wm. G. Roe & Sons Inc. family of companies.
Charlie Soule has stepped back from daily operations as CEO and long-time advisory to the company, according to a news release. He will continue to be a consultant to the company and a member of its board of directors.
Bill and Quintin Roe’s roles as vice president and president, respectively, remain the same and no other executive personnel changes are expected.
“Darrell is a wonderful fit for our organization – his expertise in organizational management, finance and accounting and strategic vision will serve the company well,” April Roe Porter, board of directors chairwoman, said in the release. “He is joining us at an exciting time as we continue to significantly expand the planted acreage and market presence of our new proprietary tangerine varieties.”
Jensen most recently was chief financial officer at Heacock Insurance Group, and he had the same role at Delray Plants Co. Before that he was controller for Davis Citrus Management Inc.
Wm G. Roe & Sons Inc., doing business as Noble Worldwide, operates a citrus and blueberry packing and marketing organization in Winter Haven, Fla.
“The time has come for the organization to transition from being family-run to family-owned,” Quentin Roe said in the release.
There are 11 family members from the third and fourth generations working in various capacities at the company.
“That’s all the reason we need to bring in an outside CEO, but additionally Darrell brings with him a wealth of family business experience across several disciplines, and will be a perfect fit to help us take advantage of the opportunities which lie in front of us,” Bill Roe said in the release.
