Harvest of flavorful Autumn Glory apples begins at Superfresh
The Autumn Glory harvest is under way, and Domex Superfresh Growers, exclusive growers of the apple, reports the apple’s unique flavors are evident in every bite.
“The caramel, sweet, and cinnamon notes are very prominent this year,” Superfresh horticulturist and proprietary variety developer Dave Gleason said in a news release. “We were tasting the flavors even earlier this year, a sign that we have a great crop headed our way.”
Superfresh Growers has nationwide programs for the variety, which is also shipped to Asia, Canada, Mexico and the Middle East, according to the release.
“Autumn Glory apple now has an international presence, and worldwide consumers are following American trends of anticipating fall as the beginning of Autumn Glory apple season,” Jeff Webb, director of international business, said in the release.
Catherine Gipe-Stewart, communications manager, said the momentum about the apple increases every year.
The marketing campaign will build off of 2019 promotions, which included coverage in national magazines, including “Thrive Magazine” and “Men’s Health,” as well as at Country Living online.
