Spring Valley Fruits introduces guava clamshell
Spring Valley Fruits, Pharr, Texas, highlighted a new eco-friendly clamshell for guava at the Produce Marketing Association’s virtual Fresh Summit.
Alberto Diaz, executive director of Spring Valley Fruits, said the new eco-friendly clamshell is made of bamboo fiber and features 91% less plastic than a standard clamshell.
“This show has been a good platform to launch it in the Fresh Ideas section,” Diaz said.
The guava grower originated in Calvillo, Aguascalientes, Mexico. Exports of Mexican guava to the U.S. were authorized in 2008.
