The omission of milk as a listed ingredient in a Taylor Farms coleslaw kit has led to a recall of 293 cases of the product.
Taylor Farms Retail Inc., Salinas, Calif., issued the recall Aug. 8 for Taylor Farms Creamy Homestyle Coleslaw Kits because milk is in the dressing packet in the kit but not on the bag label. People who have allergies to milk can have an adverse reaction, according to a Taylor Farms news release on the Food and Drug Administration’s website.
The recalled coleslaw kits were from one day of production and sent to Raley’s and Save Mart stores in California, according to the release. The kits were produced on July 31 and have a best-buy date of Aug. 16, and a lot code TFRS212A07C on the front of the bag.
The error was detected during a quality check, according to the release.
