NY Produce Show provides tips for exhibitors to do now

Organizers of the virtual 2020 New York Produce Show and Conference are recommending that exhibitors begin preparing their companies’ profile components that will bring their virtual booths to life.

Taking place Dec. 9-11, the same original dates when it was at the Javits Center in Manhattan, this live, online edition will be on a platform that accommodates several marketing elements and tools to inspire interest, engagement and leads for business leaders, according to a letter to exhibitors signed by event organizers including Susan McAleavey Sarlund, executive director of Eastern Produce Council, and Marianne Santo, president of the council.

Exhibitors originally signed up for the 2020 live show will have free access to create a virtual booth. All exhibitors can alter their booth year-round to fit other events across the globe and other opportunities in marketing, sales and procurement.

Also, companies that paid for a 2020 physical booth and its current location on the show floor will have those privileges carried forward to the live event Dec. 13-17, 2021, with the expo day on Dec. 15.

Sarlund, Santo and other organizers recommend that exhibitors begin preparing these items now to enable a quick upload when the process of exhibitor set-up begins.

  • Company description;
  • Image collection, featuring logos, staff photos, product photos, packaging, merchandising;
  • Linkable items, including websites and microsites, social media, custom landing pages (for forms, etc.) and videos (URLs to your YouTube or Vimeo videos);
  • Document collection, featuring promotional fliers, sell sheets, product descriptions, merchandising suggestions and whitepapers;
  • Staffing of virtual booth (during show hours and after);
  • Name, title and contact information;
  • Consider who will be staffing the one-on-one virtual meetings, chats and demonstrations (maximum of four people in demo room) or provide a URL for your own meeting room (Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Webex);
  • Searchable directory by categories and products to optimize the booth’s visibility and discoverability using an array of search terms; and
  • Opportunity to feature new items in the New Product Showcase.

More details will come soon. For immediate questions, contact organizers at exhibit@nyproduceshow.com or 212-426-2218.
