FPFC, Westlake Produce donate to CalFire

The Fresh Produce & Floral Council’s Golf Tournament at the Castlewood Country Club in Pleasanton, CA was held on Thursday, October 29th, 2020 with a record turnout.

The Fresh Produce & Floral Council (FPFC) held a modified golf tournament that adhered to all safety guidelines. FPFC Board Member and Co-chair of the golf committee, Dannie Timblin of Melissa’s stated what a great turnout the tournament had “Our members showed us that they were ready to get back out in public again to catch-up with old friends at this tournament – we had a record turnout and attendees were excited to see each other once again. The golf committee did an excellent job of planning this event, we can’t wait for another!”

After the devastating fires throughout Northern California the Fresh Produce & Floral Council and Westlake Produce Company decided to donate $5,000 to CalFire in support of the Northern California Community. CalFire provides emotional and financial assistance to families of fallen firefighters, firefighters and the communities they protect.

FPFC Board Member, Andrew Bivens of Westlake Produce Company stated “We wanted the Northern California members and firefighters to know that we also support them and the work that they are doing. We were happy to sponsor the $5,000 donation to CalFire.”

The tournament was altered to abide by the state and county guidelines and it couldn’t have been pulled off without the help of our Golf Committee – including our Chair, Dannie Timblin of Melissa’s and Co-Chair Mil Mijanovic of Albertsons.
