Lone Star Citrus is in strong position
Lone Star Citrus has worked hard to limit staff and employee exposure to COVID-19, said TJ Flowers, vice president of operations and sales at the company.
“We have a robust screening program that we use for every employee and visitor coming through the gate,” he said. In addition, the company implemented plexiglass dividers in all the packing areas added ventilation, personal protection equipment education and training, additional wash stations with sanitizers and temperature checks.
“That also provided the employees the confidence that they needed to hear and see to come back,” he said. “Our costs have risen, but we don’t have a labor shortage at this time because we provided a safe working environment.”
