Crawford Packaging acquires Summit Paper & Packaging

Crawford Packaging, London, Ontario, is acquiring Summit Paper & Packaging, Brampton, Ontario.

The deal will become final on Dec. 21, according to a news release.

Summit Paper & Packaging is owned and managed by Mike Bowden and Dan Djakalovic and specializes in industrial packaging solutions, with a focus on distribution and e-commerce customers, according to the release. Crawford will add packaging automation to Summit’s offerings.

Bowden plans to retire and Djakalovic will continue to work in a sales capacity, according to the release.

Summit will continue to operate independently, as a division of Crawford Packaging.

“We are pleased and privileged to bring the Summit clients and employees into the Crawford family,” John Ashby, president of Crawford Packaging, said in the release. “Mike and Dan have built a great business and we look forward to building on their legacy.”

Crawford Packaging was established in 1963 and offers packaging automation equipment, materials, solutions and support. It has warehouses in Alberta, Calgary, Georgia, Texas and Mexico.
