Nature Fresh Farms, Leamington, Ontario, has expanded operations with a new distribution center in Laredo, Texas, with more developments planned for 2021.

The 61,000-square foot facility will help service the company’s Mexican winter program and allow for direct shipping of product to customers in the southern U.S., according to a news release.

“With this, we are able to further strengthen our logistics and operations, ensuring that we can better meet the needs and expectations of our consumers and customers,” Laredo division manager Sergio Restrepo said in the release.

This latest expansion is part of continued operational growth of Nature Fresh Farms, including its Phase 7 and 8 greenhouses and a large expansion planned for the Leamington location.

The company also has plans for expansion in Ohio by increasing the 45 acre-greenhouse and a new distribution center.

“We are looking forward to further developing our Ohio location with many new initiatives planned,” vice president John Ketler said in the release.

With continued growth, today the company has more than 600 employees, 200 acres of greenhouses for tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers at facilities across North America.
