Produce industry can meet freshmen members of 117th Congress
United Fresh Produce Association is launching its 117th Congress Meet and Greet series for members to virtually meet new legislators and discuss issues.
Sworn in Jan. 3, the new Congress includes 67 freshmen members of the U.S. House and Senate, according to a news release.
Throughout 2020, House and Senate legislators have met with the fresh produce industry virtually to learn about priority issues and to understand the effect of these businesses in their districts and states.
“We hosted more than 60 congressional meetings last September during our Annual Washington Conference,” Robert Guenther, senior vice president of public policy for United Fresh, said in the release. “Both members of Congress and United Fresh members found the interactions to be productive, so what better way to continue to engage and welcome the new class of the 117th Congress?”
United Fresh will host the Fresh Faces of the 117th Congress Meet and Greet series over the next three months, hosting virtual meetings with new members of Congress, according to the release.
Meetings will be open to all United Fresh members, and for members only.
