Ted Schnuck named VP of fresh for Schnuck Markets

The new vice president of fresh for St. Louis-based Schnuck Markets is Ted Schnuck, great-grandson of company founder Anna Donovan Schnuck.

Ted Schnuck will lead strategy development and execution for categories including produce, floral, meat, seafood, bakery, deli and prepared foods, according to a news release. Schnuck will also be part of the company’s strategy team, a 10-member group that determines overall direction for the company. Schnuck will report to chief merchant Ryan Cuba.

“As vice president of our fresh areas, we look to Ted to develop the strategies to deliver on our promise to our customers to ‘Provide Best In Fresh Solutions’ by offering a relevant assortment of fresh, quality foods while providing easy, affordable, convenient meal solutions,” Schnucks president and chief operating officer Dave Peacock said in the release. “Ted’s experience, strategic mindset and leadership capabilities position him to successfully drive our evolution as a leader in fresh foods.”

Schnuck has been with the company since 2015 and has worked in areas including supply chain, business development, marketing and store operations. His accomplishments during that tenure include the launch of the Schnuck Rewards program, implementation of the company’s inventory replenishment system, and acquisition and integration of 19 St. Louis-area Shop ‘n Save stores in 2018, according to the release.

Before joining the company in 2015, Schnuck worked in strategy and marketing roles for brands at Beam Suntory and Procter & Gamble.
