Berry company Wish Farms, Plant City, Fla., has hired Brian Deese at director of blueberry grower relations.

Deese comes to Wish Farms from California Giant Berry Farms, where he was based in Florida, most recently as East Coast operations manager/business development. He was at California Giant for 12 years.

Strawberries are the major crop at Wish Farms, but blueberries are a substantial and growing part of the company’s business, according to a news release.

“Brian brings a lot of experience to the table,” Joe Powell, vice president of bushberry supply, said in the release. “We are just going to keep building on the success that we have already accomplished.”

Deese said developing and maintaining grower relations ensures future development.

“As Wish Farms continues to expand operationally to meet customer needs, it will be my sole focus to continue nurturing our great existing relationships with growers, while making sure we are holding true to our mission of providing the best tasting berries, year-round,” Deese said in the release.
