Amy Gates joins Greenyard USA/Seald Sweet as VP

Greenyard USA/Seald Sweet, Vero Beach, Fla., has hired Amy Gates as vice president.

Gates, who has a background in information technology, and will initially focus on implementing new enterprise resource planning and warehouse management systems, according to a news release.

Gates is the former president of Frontera Produce LTD, Edingburg, Texas, which she left after 16 years in October. She joined the South Texas produce distributor in 2004 as vice president and was promoted to president in 2018.

Before that, she was a sales representative for produce industry software provider Famous Software for 5 ½ years.

“Amy will enhance the company’s progressive growth with her experience and knowledge,” Mayda Sotomayor, CEO of Greenyard USA/Seald Sweet, said in the release. “She will be an instrumental part of our Management Team and look forward to the energy and talent she will bring to our company.”

Gates will be active in all facets of the business, according to the release.

“Through strategic planning and development Greenyard USA/Seald Sweet has stayed at the forefront of this dynamic industry, continuing its success under the leadership of Mayda Sotomayor,” Gates said in the release. “I am excited to work for an innovative company that is looking to the future while being grounded in Florida’s rich citrus history.”
