Justin Machell named CEO of Highland Ag Solutions

Justin Machell has been promoted to CEO of Highland Ag Solutions LLC, Mulberry, Fla.

Current CEO and founder Steve Maxwell has transitioned to board chairman, according to a news release.

Machell’s first position in the fresh produce started in 2003, in sales and procurement for Gulf Coast Produce. In 2007, he joined Highland Packaging Systems as an account manager; he was promoted to Ag-Packaging Sales Manager in 2014.

Machell met Highland’s Maxwell while at Gulf Coast Produce; Maxwell was a salesman for a packaging vendor, according to a news release.

Machell’s roles at Highland has ranged from operations to AgPackaging sales manager, according to the release. He was instrumental in helping customers reach compliance in product barcoding and traceability.

He joined Highland Ag Solutions in January 2020 as vice president of business development and promoted to chief operating officer in September, according to the release.
