PMA back in Monterey for in-person July Foodservice Conference

(Produce Marketing Association )

The Newark, Del.-based Produce Marketing Association will be bringing the industry back together – in person – in Monterey, Calif., for the Foodservice Conference on July 21-22.

As the foodservice industry rebounds from a year of COVID-19 pandemic disruption, PMA will provide a venue for foodservice operators to find supply partners, according to a news release.

“Before COVID, produce was having a moment in foodservice with the rise of the plant-based food movement,” PMA’s Joe Watson, vice president of membership and head of the foodservice portfolio, said in the release. “While the past year has been more disruptive than any of us could have predicted, we know that as we can begin to safely come together, people are looking to do that over delicious food that is especially good for our health. We want to make sure that our foodservice partners are positioned to meet that demand with fresh and delicious products and that’s what we’ll aim to do in Monterey this year.”

There will be additional updates on the Foodservice Conference in the coming weeks, according to the release, but PMA said safety is the top priority for guests at their upcoming in-person events. PMA will be utilizing global and local guidelines and industry-specific standards and recommendations to create an event that ensures meaningful connections in a safe, socially distanced way, the release said. More information about these modifications and safety protocols will be shared closer to the event.

For those interested in receiving updates for Foodservice Conference 2021, they can sign up  to receive more information as it is released or check back on the event’s website.
