Cheryl Williams retiring after 47 years in produce
After 47 years in the produce business, Cheryl Williams is retiring.
Williams has been director of produce sales and procurement for Ennice, N.C.-based Bottomleys Evergreens and Farms. She worked for more than four decades at Kroger, including the last ten years at Kroger as the lead category vegetable buyer.
After Kroger, she spent two years at Mike Pirrone Produce in Capac, Michigan as sales associate and then came to Bottomley Evergreens and Farms for two years
“This is so bitter sweet!,” Williams said in an e-mail. “Produce has been my life for such a long time but, priorities definitely change when you get older. I’m looking forward to spending more time with my family, especially my two grandsons AJ and Bently. To my Produce family, I will never forget you!”
