King Fresh looks for peak grape volume in early June
With Mexican grapes from Hermosillo and Caborca in Mexico, King Fresh will show peak volume by June 7, said Keith Wilson, president of the Dinuba, Calif.-based company. “We will increase by 20 % this season with the addition of a new grower we are working with. Growing conditions have been decent with the absence of warm weather,” Wilson said. About 15% of King Fresh’s Mexican grape volume is organic, and that percentage may grow in the future. Proprietary varieties are increasing market share, Wilson said, but the new varieties tend to be later to harvest, which he said isn’t conducive to market conditions.
