Oppy offers full selection of Mexican table grapes
The Oppenheimer Group has a strong presence with Mexican grapes grown in the Hermosillo region and will offer a full complement of table grapes packed in the Ocean Spray and Oppy labels, said Marc Serpa, director of domestic grapes and sales manager for Vancouver, British Columbia-based Oppy. “We expect modest grape supplies in May and good promotional opportunities past Memorial Day through the month of June,” he said. Serpa said Oppy anticipates 20% growth in volume over the 2020 season. “Pre-season growing conditions are favorable and we look forward to bringing high quality and great-tasting table grapes to the market,” he said. Oppy has been expanding its organic offerings and will continue to grow in volume into the future, he said. Oppy’s mix of grapes from Mexico will include the newer Early Sweet, Sweet Globes and Sweet Celebrations as well as traditional varieties flame, summer royal and sugraone. “We focus our efforts on great tasting grapes with high brix,” he said.
