USDA announces $12 million fresh grape purchase
A fresh grape purchase of more than $12 million was announced by the U.S. Department of Agriculture on May 11.
The USDA made the fresh grape purchase for distribution to the child nutrition and other related domestic food assistance programs for Fiscal Year 2021, according to the purchase award document.
The USDA said it purchased 485,000 cartons of grapes with a per carton range from $14.50 to $40, with a total purchase amount of $12.7 million. A list of the fresh grape shippers winning the award is available online.
Purchase awards were made for f.o.b. destination, with deliveries from May 31 through July 28.
