Giumarra to debut Bright Bites mandarins at FPFC

Los Angeles-based Giumarra is introducing its Bright Bites-branded mandarins at the Fresh Produce & Floral Council expo today.

The fruit comes in 2-pound and 3-pound bags, which feature a monster graphic, orange mesh and a bright green wrap, according to a news release.

“Mandarins are the top seller in the citrus category and show no signs of slowing down,” Kellee Harris, western region business director for Giumarra, said in the release. “We are pleased to offer our customers an exciting new bag option that emphasizes the fun, playful nature of this ‘easy peel’ fruit.”

The company is shipping mandarins from Australia and Peru, with Chile to begin soon. The season finishes at the end of September.

Domestic fruit will be available January through March. A number of bag sizes will be available “to fit all retail needs,” according to the release.
