Seald Sweet looks for good supply of Southern Hemisphere citrus
Seald Sweet will have about 3 million cartons of citrus volume from Peru, Chile, Uruguay and South Africa this summer.
Peter Anderson, Swedesboro, N.J.-based commodity manager for Seald Sweet, said the citrus volume will include oranges, easy peelers and lemons.
With excess demand gone compared with pandemic buying levels a year ago, retailers are in a normal sales pattern in 2021, Anderson said.
“(Retail promotions) will be important this season as volumes from the Southern Hemisphere are increasing,” he said.
Packaging is an important sustainability priority for Seald Sweet, as trends point to more recyclable packaging.
